Dr. Battiss is a senior Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, offering counselling, psychometric assessments and clinical supervision services in private practice in Co. Galway, Ireland. Her qualifications in counselling psychology have been verified by the Department of Health and Children. She also consults for the HSE and Tusla.
She holds a doctorate in Psychology and a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (Cum Laude), both obtained from the University of Johannesburg. Her undergraduate degree was in industrial psychology and psychology.
She has received additional training in the MOCA, Creyos Cognitive Assessments, as well as the QbCheck for cognitive and ADHD assessments; training in the ADI-R and ADOS-2 for autism assessments, and training in the Woodcock Johnson IV for dyslexia assessments. Her additional counselling qualifications include training in CBT, ACT, Ego-State Therapy, Medical Hypno-analysis and Traditional Hypnosis.
She practised as a Counselling Psychologist in private practice in Johannesburg from 1998 to 2007. She specialised in hypnotherapy and cognitive behaviour therapy with adolescents and adults in treating conditions including anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, as well as assisting clients with medical conditions. Psychometric assessments included neuropsychological, cognitive, personality, and career evaluations.
She managed a psychological coaching practice in Johannesburg from 2011 until August 2021 before relocating to Ireland.
She has an interest in finance and has a certificate in derivative trading from the New York Institute of Finance.
